New Eleanor of Aquitaine biography

Friday, 15 November 2019

Today Amberley Publishing has released a new biography of Eleanor of Aquitaine by Sara Cockerill. Eleanor is surely one of the most popular subjects for biographers and readers of English history. There exists a long list of books on Eleanor, and some of them are worthwhile. The most important of these is the Yale biography by Ralph V. Turner, a title which is examined in the pages of this website. This new book, however, will be keenly expected by every reader of the author’s previous biography on the largely unknown Eleanor of Castile. The author is a London-based barrister - indeed a QC - and her skill at presenting an argument is palpable in her first book. Expect the same degree of research and analysis in this, her second book.
