Albert biography

Sunday, 2 February 2020

A.N. Wilson was the author of a well-regarded biography of Queen Victoria (Victoria: a Life, Atlantic Books 2014) and has returned to the field with a companion study of Victoria’s husband and consort, Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. This book was published in September 2019, by the same publisher and, always important for collectors, has a cover similar to the earlier book which which is is forever paired - or at least the British printing does. The American-printed copy has a ghastly cover and should be avoided. The publicity says, "Drawn from the Royal archives, including Prince Albert's voluminous correspondence, this brilliant and ambitious book offers fascinating never-before-known details about the man and his time.” 'Prince Albert: the man who saved the monarchy’ is available in hardback, ISBN 9781782398318
