Yale is celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Field of Cloth of Gold (7 - 24 June 1520) by issuing a new paperback version of Glenn Richardson’s 2014 book ‘The Field of Cloth of Gold’. The author is professor of Early Modern History at St. Mary’s University, London. The reviews posted in Yale’s publicity illustrate the importance of this book for Tudor scholarship; he is praised by David Gelber as being a rare Tudor scholar in approaching the subject from an international point of view, and by Thomas Penn (biographer of Henry VII) as throwing new light on this early international conference.
