Yale recently released a new title by Catherine Hanley, the author of two books related to the English Monarchs series - her biographies of Matilda and the attempted invasion of England of Prince Louis of France. Her new book is called ‘Two Houses, Two Kingdoms: a history of France and England, 1100-1300’ in which she examines the relationship between the two countries and their ruling families which, in a sense, was an extended family with all the marriages, friendships, clashes and war you would expect from a history of this period.
