Amberley Publishing has released 'Edmund of Cornwall: the Man behind England’s Greatest King' by Michael Ray, ISBN 9781399093545. Edmund was close to the throne, being the nephew of Henry III and for a short time part of the governing council of England between the death of Henry III and the arrival of Edward I, a duty he performed later when Edward was away in Wales. The publisher and author have chosen the publication date carefully; it is the 750th anniversary of the death of Edmund’s father Richard of Cornwall. Richard will be the subject of another Amberly title this coming September on the release of Darren Baker’s new biography of Richard.
