This week Yale is releasing the second volume in Professor David Carpenter’s epic biography of king Henry III. This book covers the period 1258 to 1272, and although a shorter span of years than that of volume 1 (1207-1258), is about equal in page count. While the official date is 23 May some booksellers are selling copies early. Volume 1 was a best seller - for history books - and copies became hard to find after the first few weeks of release.
